The first visit is extremely important because it is when a complete evaluation of the patient's oral health is performed, which includes:

Initial Interview or Anamnesis

Our dental team will ask questions about the general medical history (such as illnesses, medications being taken, allergies, etc.) and dental history (including any previous treatments, surgeries, or recent discomfort).

Diagnosis and Treatment Planning

Once all the information is collected, the findings will be explained to the patient, along with any identified problems and necessary treatments. The patient will be presented with available options, estimated timelines, and costs to allow for informed decision-making.

Clinical

Examination

A careful examination will be conducted of all anatomical structures related to the head and neck, including the teeth, gums, tongue, palate, and oral mucosa, among others. The team will look for cavities, dental wear, gum disease, malocclusions, or any signs of oral pathology.

Preventive Advice

Personalized recommendations will be given regarding dental hygiene, nutrition, and healthy habits to help the patient better care for their oral health.

Radiograph

Radiographs are taken to assess what is not visible during a clinical examination, such as hidden cavities, the condition of the roots, supporting bone structure, or possible infections. Examples of radiographic imaging that may be used include panoramic X-rays, periapical radiographs, and dental CT scans, among others.

Regular Initial Cleaning

If there are no active infections or other urgent needs, a basic dental cleaning will be performed during this first visit to remove tartar and dental plaque.

The primary goal of this initial consultation is to get to know the patient, understand their specific needs, and help them maintain or restore their oral health in a safe and personalized manner.

WHY REGULAR DENTAL CLEANINGS ARE SO IMPORTANT

Did you know that keeping your teeth clean is one of the best things you can do for your smile? It's true! Regular dental cleanings, done by your friendly dentist or hygienist, are super important to help keep your teeth and gums healthy.
When you brush and floss, you're doing a great job, but sometimes tiny bits of food and plaque hide in places your toothbrush or dental floss can’t reach. Over time, this can cause cavities, gum problems, and even bad breath! Regular cleanings help remove this buildup before it can hurt your teeth.

Do you know why regular dental cleanings are so important? Let me tell you!

Stop the Plaque Attack

Plaque is a sticky film of bacteria that loves to hang out on your teeth. Regular cleanings help get rid of plaque and keep your teeth nice and clean!

Fight Cavities

Nobody likes cavities! Regular cleanings help prevent them by removing plaque and tartar, which are the main culprits behind those pesky holes in your teeth.

Fresh Breath for the Win

Ever notice a bad smell coming from your mouth? Regular cleanings keep your breath fresh and your smile smelling sweet.

Healthy Gums, Happy Smiles

Cleanings help keep your gums healthy and strong. Healthy gums are the key to a bright and happy smile.

FUN FACT ☺️

Did you know that crocodiles have built-in tooth cleaners? Tiny birds called plovers help clean their teeth!
